Joey Carter isn’t your typical Ambit Executive Consultant. For one thing, he has more than 40 years of experience in the direct selling industry. And Joey’s grandmother Mary, was the founder of one of the most successful companies in the direct selling industry, Home Interiors & Gifts. In fact, Joey was the third generation of his family to serve as CEO of Home Interiors. Not only that, Mr. Carter is among the original investors in Ambit when the company was started in 2006.But his association with Ambit didn’t end there. In 2009, he attended AMBITION and was so impressed with what he saw he decided to become Marketing Consultant as well as investor. “I have had been in Direct Selling for a long time. I’d even served as Chairman of the Direct Selling Association. But we’d never been Marketing Consultants. I wanted to start from step one and achieve the level of Executive Consultant.” Joey explains.
Having already invested capital in 2006, Joey Carter is now ready to invest his time, energy and reputation to make his Independent Consultant Ambit Business a success.

In this episode of Ambit Energy's Ambitious 50, we interviewed National Consultants, Jim and Kim Mason.

Golden Nuggets:
The whole family was against the business
Stories are the best way to illustrate
Out of control and frustrating
Inner circle / outer circle
Invite prospects to meet a guest speaker
Checks came with Kim’s name on them
If you don’t have passion
Personal development is pivotal

Kim & Jim Mason promoted to National Consultant on Sunday August 24th.
We congratulate them on this remarkable achievement!

It takes vision and courage to sell your business of 25 years and start a new one. But that’s what Jim and Kim Mason did, and they’ve begun a new life thanks to Ambit Energy.

Raised in a town of about 600, Jim started his own landscaping business at a young age. Kim, his wife of 20 years and bookkeeper for the family business, grew up an “Army Brat” and was used to moving every few years.

As their landscaping business grew, so did their family - with the arrival of daughters Kazlin and Halee, and their son Ryan. But hard work took its toll and Jim often worked long nights, weekends and holidays.

During a trip to Charlotte, NC, Jim and Kim agreed to re-prioritize and re-evaluate things. They followed their instincts and sold their 25-year old landscaping business so they could take a chance on a new business opportunity with a company they had recently been introduced to - Ambit Energy.

“I Think We Need to Do This”
The Masons were introduced to Ambit by friends Greg and Beth Korcyl. Greg just handed Jim a Success magazine and told him to “take it home and let Kim read it.” Kim read through the magazine and played the DVD in bed - and couldn’t fall asleep. She kept poking Jim: “I think we need to do this.”

What impressed them the most about Ambit was not having a product to sell. Having tried another network marketing business years before, they recognized how Ambit was different. Jim was struck by the outstanding income potential, and had never heard of another direct selling business that enabled people to “buy their life back.”

A Fast Start
Jim and Kim were “big thinkers” and committed to try Ambit full-time for three months, with the goal of sponsoring one person per month. After 28 days they promoted to RC right in the middle of the winter holidays. Two months later, they reached SC.

The Masons remember EC Chris Atkinson inviting them to dinner before a presentation and asking, “So, when will you be Executive?” Chris made them realize they could do it, and they worked with whoever would let them until the business took off.

Reaching EC in 9 months was their goal and motivation, and they knew the only way to get there was to help their team.

“We love this business compared to what we had to do to be successful in the past,” says Kim. “This is a walk in the park! We love to hear the ‘dings’ on our cell phones and know that another person is about to change their life.”

Family Support
Currently, oldest daughter Kazlin is in Graduate School and has promoted to SC. Halee, the middle child (also an SC), is a junior in college. Their youngest, Ryan, can’t wait for the day to begin his Ambit business.

Kim advises: “Just stay focused and steadfast. Don’t let anyone shake your tree, even your own family and friends. Eventually, they’ll see that you are serious about your business, and that it’s much more than a ‘hobby.’”

More Helpful Advice
Jim and Kim agree that new Consultants need to “work this business like your life depends on it. Think of this business as a membership to the gym. You paid your $429.00 for the membership, but nothing will happen if you don’t go to the gym and work out. The same holds true here. The more you do it, the better you get.”

“Time is your most valuable asset, so take the time to build your business and to grow personally. If you don’t like where you are, change it! If you plug into the system you will be successful: if you don’t, you won’t.”

In this episode of Ambit Energy's Ambitious 50, we interviewed Executive Consultants, Kevin and Rose Duncan.

Golden Nuggets:
If we don’t do this, we will be in the same spot next year.
It’s not where you go, it’s who you go with.
Matching Tupperware
Rejection Training
Little voice, you should talk to them.
The only thing easier than starting the business, is quitting.
If you cannot afford to do this business, YOU CANNOT AFFORD NOT TO DO THIS BUSINESS!
Who would you call?
I want a baby!

Rose Duncan worked for a major wireless phone carrier and her husband Kevin owned a software development company. They were working so hard to provide a good life for their six children they never had time to actually see their kids. In fact, the two of them were so busy with their careers and family they didn’t think they could take on another challenge.

“I said ‘no’ to the Ambit opportunity three times because I was happy with my job and Kevin was a successful business owner,” Rose recalls. “Then I met a lady at a volunteer function who didn’t have a full-time job, but she did have a paid-off Escalade. I asked her what she did and the rest is history!”

Rose attended a presentation in Round Rock, Texas and signed up. “I realized this was the deregulation of energy and the deregulation of telecom was the only reason my job existed—if this is what I thought it could be, I’d better get in on the ground floor.”

Pastor Kenny Smith first learned about the Ambit Opportunity from Debbie Roy Atkinson. After an initial conversation, Debbie spent 5 months following up with Kenny before he finally joined Ambit. Five months he says he wishes he didn't waste.

Kenny began building his organization and was quickly promoted to Executive Consultant. According to Kenny, one of the keys to success is "Finding out what's unknown. It's getting into the business before the masses know about it." He also says, "It's more than the compensation plan, It's a continual learning experience to make myself better by helping others get better [at building their lives and their Ambit business}."

When it comes to gathering customers Kenny likes to keep it trustful and personal. It's not about the kilowatt-hours, but about relationships. "Ambit is is the only company that hoods true to the aim of network marketing, which is building residual income."

In this episode of Ambit Energy's Ambitious 50, we interviewed Fast Track RC, Fast Track SC, and Fast Track Executive Consultant & Five Start Trip Award Winner, Milton Burt.

Golden Nuggets:
Four Reasons
They need this opportunity
They don’t have faith in themselves
No tolerance for people wasting my time
Create a success story
The food is here, it’s time to eat!
Let those people go
Everybody does not make the cut

Milton believes it's important to set high standards at a young age, and Ambit pushes him to do that every day.

"Too often we settle for so little because we simply have not been taught or do not believe that something greater is possible," he says. "Well, I am living proof that it is, and I want to share this opportunity with the world."

As an Executive Consultant living in Illinois, Milton is determined to reclaim his personal time, enable his mother to retire and change as many lives as possible. "I love helping others, and with Ambit I can take that to a whole new level," he says. "I have been able to help people go from homelessness to financial independence!"

Milton has certainly discovered that something greater is possible. He recently returned from a 5-Star Trip to the Four Seasons Resort in Maui with Ambit's Co-Founders and many other leaders to celebrate his success.

"If you cannot believe,” says EC Kevin Cochran about Ambit Energy’s service, “then you will not achieve success in this business.”
Kevin’s voice is steamrolling through the phone line, energized by his excitement and passion for the Ambit Opportunity. He’s talking about what it takes to achieve success.

“When you joined this business, you didn’t pay to save money on your electric bill. You joined the business to make money!” He’s just getting warmed up. “Ambit says, to get your first bonus check, enroll four customers in 28 days. I say four in 24 hours! I’m going to help new Consultants do this. Get them their first check. Get the check in their hands. Get them excited. Excitement creates momentum. When they get that first check in their hand - and it’s Chase Bank, not some bank you never heard of - the checks cash!”

In this episode of Ambit Energy's Ambitious 50, we interviewed Pure Energy Award Winner that Fast Tracked to RC, SC and is now an Executive Consultant, Bear Gordon.

Golden Nuggets:
I was going to get in because he was in
Stay plugged in, Ambition, Simulcast, Power Trip and weekly BPs
Sold passion and excitement
It's not my job to make you successful
Focus on the two things we get paid to do
You cannot treat someone as a priority when you are only an option for them
People that don't know anything, don't tend to do anything

From the first consultant that Ambit Energy’s 1# income earner Brian McClure sponsored to Execuitve Consultant, Bear has seen the explosive growth of the company. Dwayne "Bear" Gordon has been a photographer since high school. After being in close proximity of the legendary Gladys Knight, he walked away with no evidence of the event. From there, he was committed to getting a camera, and shortly thereafter declared that he wanted to become a professional photographer.

His passion has always been people photography: portraits, sports, celebrities and other public appearances. His extensive celebrity list includes Patti LaBelle, James Brown, Kenny Rogers, Former Pres. Ronald Reagan, Willie Nelson, Jack Nicklaus, and many more. Gradually, he's expanded to weddings, families, seniors and corporate events. His personality and sense of humor enable him to create fun while capturing memorable images. From infants to high school students to senior citizens, one should expect to smile in his presence.

Bear is a husband, a father of 5, a grandfather of 3, active in his church, and passionate about singing and acting. It's not uncommon that he breaks into song at any given moment.

In this episode of Ambit Energy's Ambitious 50, we interviewed Multiple Five Start Trip Award Winner, Ambit A List, Member of the Comma Club, Pure Energy Award Winner, People's Choice Award Winner and Executive Consultant Norbert Hennessey.

Golden Nuggets:
William Wallace
Make it as easy as possible, DUPLICATABLE
Get them checks within ten days
People join Ambit on your excitement
Ambit is an energy business, Im in the people business
Dont give up on anybody
Benefits of what they have invested in

EC Norbert Hennessy’s excitement is palpable. “The product we have - it’s habitually used and unconsciously purchased. Everybody uses our product every day, every hour, every minute! Nobody has to store our product out in their garage. We don’t have to sell our product; we only have to show people what we have. It’s the first bill paid every month. It’s a recession-proof business. I mean, who’s kidding who?”

Norbert says he’s just an ordinary guy on fire. Monday night he told a packed house of more than 300 people in Flushing, New York, “I feel that I am the face of hope for everyone here, and I’m just an ordinary guy. If an ordinary, normal guy like me can do this, then anyone can do it. We have a simple business. Just find a like-minded person and help them find customers.” About our Opportunity he implored the crowd, “Please see what I see. If you do, you will run with it. It is here for everybody!”

Due diligence leads to “ignorance on fire”
Norbert first heard of Ambit Energy on a 3-way call between EC Ray Montie and SC Runee Harris. All three were in a different business at the time. Norbert overheard, “We’ll talk about Ambit later.” He got on Google to do his due diligence and he says, “I spent the weekend on a high after learning all about it. ” He knew, “This is what I’d been waiting for!” He called Ray and said, “Tell me about Ambit Energy.” Now Ray is Norbert’s Sponsor and Runee is one of the five SCs that helped Norbert promote to EC.

Norbert hails from Tipperary, Ireland, and although he’s been in the USA since 1972, his brogue still carries a few expressions requiring a wee bit of explanation. He says when he joined Ambit, he and his team drove all over the Bronx and Westchester County with “ignorance on fire.” We think that means something akin to “blind trust with a dose of adrenaline.” Whatever it means, they had, “...pure belief in our product and what we were doing.” Norbert even called Albany to order vanity plates for his cars. One says AMBITNY, the other says NYAMBIT.

Eight days after joining the business, RC Norbert Hennessy was on a plane to attend Ambition 2007 with three other newly minted Regional Consultants: SC Denis McCarthy, SC Geraldine O’Brien and SC Aidan Ruane. He chuckles, “I may never be the company’s #1 income-earner, but I was the #1 person to register for the first Ambition and nobody can ever take that away from me.” He says, “Last year we had four on the plane. For the next Ambition maybe we’ll bring a whole planeload, maybe even on a private charter. Who knows?”

Norbert’s billion-dollar business
Ambit Energy Co-founder and CEO Jere Thompson was the special guest at the first meeting Norbert’s team hosted in Yonkers last November. “It meant a lot to me because he could’ve gone to Manhattan or Brooklyn or Queens.” NC Brian McClure was there, too. After the meeting, Jere and Brian hosted a dinner for RCs and SCs. Norbert recalls, “It was phenomenal that we could have dinner with them and talk with them about the company.” After dinner, Norbert showed Jere his license plates, and Jere still has the photos he took in his cell phone.

Norbert attends a business presentation every night of the week, and his team hosts meetings twice a week. “It’s so important to be plugged in or you lose your focus. And focus is key. You want to be around positive, like-minded people. I want to uplift people and uplift my team.”

When people say of Ambit’s infancy that they’re getting in on the ground floor, Norbert disagrees. “We’re not on the ground floor; we’re only in the basement! Even though I’m already an EC, I still don’t feel I’m there. Every day I get up and thank God for what I have. I own a billion-dollar Ambit business!”

Thank-yous
Norbert wants to give the “people behind the scenes” at Ambit Energy headquarters their due. “The customer support and Consultant support are phenomenal,” he gushes. “The people are very educated and whoever trains them deserves a clap on the back.” (There’s another one of those Irish expressions: “Clap on the back” is a good thing.)

He wants to thank his upline and the five SCs responsible for his promotion: SC Runee Harris, SC Stu Kaplan, SC Anthony Naranjo, SC Kevin Kerrigan and SC Tim and Yolanda Hunte. “They’re all extremely coachable and that’s how we made it happen,” Norbert says. He also says, “Although she doesn’t know it yet, Ray Montie’s other half, Danielle, is my calming voice when I get flustered or bothered or when something’s not right. I’ll call her and we’ll just talk. She lets me know everything’s going to be all right.”

Advice for new Consultants
“Talk to your upline. Don’t tread this path alone. There is phenomenal support for you.” He says, “You cannot re-invent the wheel. There’s something in motion that’s working. People might think there are shortcuts, but it’s hard work. Just know you’ll be amply rewarded to the work you do.”

“When you give someone a DVD, you look that person in the eye and say, ‘Don’t take this unless you’re going to watch it tonight and bring it back. This is my dream. Don’t you dare take my dream away from me!’”

Norbert says he, “…looks to go to the mountain top and shout down to all the people about what we have!”
